About Conejo Meals and App Instructions

First, a little bit about us…

My brother Rob and I launched a website called ConejoDeals.com way back in 2010. The goal was simple: connect our Conejo Valley neighbors with our Conejo Valley businesses — and give everyone deals so good that they would take a chance on discovering a new business.

Over the years, we have sold hundreds of thousands of Conejo Deals certificates, saving our members cumulatively millions of dollars. Thanks to our amazing customers, our Give Back program, and our obsession with top-notch customer service, Conejo Deals was even named Conejo Valley Business of the Year after our very first year in business!

Why launch a brand-new website and app that focuses only on restaurant discounts?

Well, Rob and I eat out a lot (a lot), and we couldn’t help but notice that restaurant prices seem to have practically doubled since the pandemic. And take-out? Even more expensive thanks to third-party delivery apps that inflate the rack menu prices and tack on every fee possible.

We also noticed something else: restaurants are slammed during the 6:00–7:00 p.m. rush hour… and practically empty before and after it. But restaurant owners still have to pay rent, staff, utilities, insurance, and everything else all day long.

So we put our heads together and came up with a solution that helps:

  • Our neighbors, who love eating out but don’t always love the bill, and
  • Our local restaurants, who deserve full dining rooms at all hours.

That solution is Conejo Meals.

Conejo Meals provides restaurant discounts that help our fellow food lovers dine out more affordably, while protecting restaurants by ensuring that customers hit a reasonable spending minimum. We also reward diners who avoid peak dinner hours by offering extra-juicy Off-Peak deals. Conejo Meals works because it is Win-Win: minimums are a “win” for restaurants; discounts are a “win” for consumers.

And because Conejo Meals avoids third-party delivery apps, it helps keep more money right here in our own community — not in the pockets of giant corporations.

Thus our Conejo Meals motto:

KEEP IT IN THE CONEJO!

OK, enough about us! Here’s how to save at hundreds of local restaurants using the Conejo Meals app:

Easy Peasy App Instructions: Tap. Save. Eat. Repeat.

  1. Start on the Home Screen. When you open the app, you’ll land on the Deals page — the digital equivalent of walking into your favorite restaurant and hearing, “By the way, everything’s on sale today.”

    Here you can:
    • Browse all deals
    • Filter by location (Westlake only? Done.)
    • Tap icons for whatever you’re craving (sushi, tacos, pizza, etc.). A little TMI — pizza is Rob’s love language.

  2. Select a Restaurant. See something delicious? Tap the restaurant to view all available deals, like:
    • Pay $10 to save $20, or
    • Pay $20 to save $40
    • Off-Peak Deals (more in a sec)

  3. Add Your Deal(s) to Cart. Choose your deal, pick your quantity, and add to cart. (If “quantity” = “several,” we applaud your confidence.) You can check out as a guest, but we highly recommend creating an account — it takes just a sec and keeps all your certificates stored safely in one tidy place. Payment options include all the usual favorites: Shopify, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, etc.

  4. A Quick Word About Off-Peak Deals. Off-Peak Deals are for people who like saving money and avoiding crowds.

To qualify, you just need to dine or order:
    • By 5:45 p.m. or earlier OR
    • At 8:15 p.m. or later
    That’s it!

Dinner at 5:30 makes you “strategic.”
Dinner at 8:30 makes you “glamorous.”
    Both make you richer.

  5. Redeem Your Certificate at the Restaurant. When you’re ready to use your deal:
    • Show your certificate when you order — NOT when the check arrives.
    • If you’re ordering take-out, tell the order-taker up front.
    To redeem, you may:
    • Show the certificate on your phone, or
    • Print it and bring it with you.

  6. Be Cool. Conejo Meals works because our community is awesome. When you’re redeeming a deal:
    • Be kind. Be courteous.
    • Don’t pull a “surprise! I have a certificate!” plot twist at the end.
    • Follow the rules in the “What’s the Catch?” section of each deal.
Friendly diners = happy restaurants. Happy restaurants = more deals.

  7. Enjoy Your Meal & Repeat. You saved money.
    You supported a local restaurant.
    You ate something delicious.

Now go tell your friends about both the restaurant and Conejo Meals!
